Sanctum Forma is a long-exposure fine-art study of Liverpool Metropolitan Cathedral, composed and edited to emphasise the cathedral's central tower - a defining presence in the city's skyline. The extended exposure softens the movement of the sky, allowing the architecture to emerge with sculptural clarity, it's geometric planes and vertical mass becoming the dominant language of the image.
The Title, Latin for Sanctuary of Form, reflects the Cathedral's modernist design and the disciplined geometry that shapes its identity. Rather than depicting the building as a place of worship, the piece isolates its structural essence - the interplay of line, shadow, and ascending form - transforming the architecture into an abstracted sanctuary of shape and space.
Through this approach, Sanctum Forma becomes less a document of a location and more a meditation on structure, stillness, and the quiet power of contemporary sacred architecture.
