Lux Tempestatis(pronounced LOOX tem‑pes‑TAH‑tis) is a chiaroscuro landscape defined by the quiet luminosity rising from snow‑covered peaks beneath a shifting, overcast sky. On this wind‑driven day, the snow acted as a vast reflective plane, casting a soft ambient glow onto the underside of the nearest clouds.
Exposing for the snow covered peaks allowed the foreground fells to fall into deep shadow, reducing the scene to a disciplined interplay of mass and tone. The resulting composition is stripped to its essentials: illuminated atmosphere, darkened land, and the quiet tension between them created other-worldly and almost supernatural contrast
